Why You’ll Never Want to Leave Hidden Hills Villas in Uluwatu, Bali

Hidden Hills Villas Uluwatu, Bali

Hidden Hills Villas could quite possibly be one of the most beautifully designed and decorated villas on the island of Bali. I know that’s a big call but trust me, I perused thousands of hotels and villas online prior to arriving in Bali, and there really was nothing else quite like it.

The family run villa resort is nestled in the hills of Uluwatu, with 180 degrees of uninterrupted ocean views. With six boutique villas, encompassing a variety of 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms that each have their own character and style, inspired by various countries across the globe. The result is an incredibly unique villa resort that is so creatively designed and decorated, you’ll be hard pressed to find anywhere on the island nearly as impressive.

Superb Interior Design and Decor

Each villa has been specially curated by the mother-and-son founding duo, combining design elements from all over the world. From Greek to Chinese, Moroccan to Persian and traditional Balinese to modern contemporary, each villa has their own unique theme with incredible décor influenced from these regions. Not surprisingly the Greek influenced villa, appropriately named Villa Santorini is their most popular. Given that we were in Bali after all, we chose to experience the Balinese influenced Villa Sekapa.

Villa Sekapa is a 2-bedroom ocean view pool villa that features quite possibly the most beautiful bathroom you will ever lay eyes on. I never thought I would need a mint tile bathroom in my life, but Hidden Hills proved me wrong. They also use their own in-house body wash, shampoo and soaps and boy did I smell delicious after every shower.

Insta-Worthy Villa Doors

Every single door at this property is unique and different from the next. Whether it’s the intricate hand carved door leading to your villa or the vintage pastel washed doors that open to your outdoor bathroom. I guarantee you’ll want a colour-coordinated outfit in front of every door you lay eyes on.

Your Own Private Infinity Pool

There really is nothing better than relaxing by your very own private infinity pool with uninterrupted views of the ocean, and conveniently the same side of the island where the sun sets. On our final morning the low-lying clouds cleared very briefly to reveal a volcano on the nearby island of Java. It came as quite a surprise to discover there was even land nearby, as the previous days had looked like never ending ocean.

The Most Over The Top Flower Bath

This was my third flower bath in as many weeks and it seemed like I well and truly saved the best for last. This was also the fist time where I was left wondering if there was actually even any water underneath that blanket of flowers.

5 Star Butler Service

Given that we only left our villa once in the 3 days we were there (we left for half an hour to do an acai bowl run), we were on quite friendly terms with our butler from our multiple room service orders a day. In fact the entire team at Hidden Hills were incredibly friendly and provided outstanding service and hospitality. They even so graciously showed us around three of the other villas whose guests had just checked out. Villa Marrakesh and Villa Santorini were my favourite, and ones I definitely want to check out next time.

Location

Despite having dozens of beaches only a short drive away, you’ll be forgiven for wanting to give the beaches a miss in favour of your own private sanctuary at Hidden Hills Villas. However, should you wish to do some exploring, the world famous breaks at Padang Padang and Suluban beach are a mere 10 minutes away.
